Porcelain CapsDescription : Made from the finest porcelain, each piece is meticulously shaped by hand. Once the shape has been created, it is left to slightly dry before being worked into. I use various mark making techniques to create subtle patterns and textures. The caps are slowly bisque fired to 1000C and then left to cool. Colours are applied, layering, wiping back and layering again. The beads are then fired again to 1300c. The pieces are finished with subtle highlights of lustres before going into the kiln for a final firing. Uses : Spacers for necklaces, earrings and bracelets in jewellery making. They could also be used in sewing, knitting, felting and mixed media work. |
